" ...A123 Systems is going to be a story stock. If you believe in a future of electric-powered vehicles, it is one way to invest in that future. Of course, other company's are trying to create batteries for electric vehicles as well, such as Aptera and Tesla Motors (which, in addition to creating its own electric cars, has a deal to supply Mercedes-Benz with electric batteries). But they are still private....

Securities and Exchange Commission shows a filing of an S-1 on 8-8-2008, which would be consistent with IPO for $175million in securities. Since this is my 3rd post I don't think I allowed URL's yet. So I try it somewhat cripticlly:

Here is the actual SEC URL:

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1167178/000104746908008964/a2186822zs-1.htm

This document has a ways to go before approval and is full of blanks. But such is the registration process and prep for IPO. Been there, done that. Hop on the URL and kick the tires of their prospectus. as it develops there will be updates that you can watch as public documents on the SEC's Edgar data base.

Very interesting. Thanks.

With a grand total of one IPO in the last half of this year we might have plenty of time to watch this develop.

Given the financial troubles that Think is having, (see link (http://news.cnet.com/8301-11128_3-10124529-54.html)) this is not a time for IPOs in the e-car world.

Yeah... even as someone who hasn't been too enthusiastic about the Th!nk City, I think this is a horrible portent.
