Hi all... I haven't been able to see any discussion on Aptera availability. Does anyone have a tentative (or planned) schedule for when it will be availble by state and/or region???

I think all we know now is that the all- electric model will begin deliveries in the San Diego area the end of 2008.

then they will expand northward in California.

The Hybrid should begin deliveries in early 2010

I am not sure the timeline for other states yet or if dealers selling the electric will begin hybrid sales as soon as available or if it also be done regionally

Nobody around here does. Aptera has been keeping that info close to their chests. I'm not surprised; I'm sure they don't want to disappoint people if plans change.

Who has production slot #1, #2 and #3 for the 2E in the San Diego area???

They must be getting real excited, as December 1, 2008 is tomorrow and accordingly Aptera
said a small rollout in December ramping up in 2009 for the 2E.

Lets hear from you guys...#1, #2 and #3. :aptera: :love0002: :happy0025:

October 2009 by reservation number, not by region.

I would love to have one, but our mexican government is still wearing diapers in energy saving vehicles and their senseless rules do not allow the import of such a car.

Well at this moment it's also Aptera who will not sell outside of California for various reasons that are also discussed here in the forum. So in this case you have to go though allot of hoops to get an Aptera. In my case (Holland) the Aptera is to wide so it's gonna be a battle to get it road legal.

After taking some time to absorb the last delivery setback, I must admit, that it'll be very depressing if it happens again. Yes, I understand the needs for doing it. Still . . . . .

Their lack of communication is more depressing. In everything else, I'd view it as suspicious. Why don't they inform us via the web site, rather than trying to figure out how to use this forum so we can glean rumors from others?

Because things aren't for certain.

Yes, they have a rough idea internally for when they want things available. They have given us the basic timetable of a new model every 6 months after the 2e, with the 2e coming in Oct. That leaves the door flexible enough for them to shift things around, and they won't disappoint us if they have to delay things or such.

They will tell us concrete details as soon as things are 95% certain.

thanks. How do you find out these things?
also, is April 4 still a go?

I'm not sure on April 4th as I am actually not a reservation holder (I live in WA).

I emailed them and asked about the other things though. :)

Here is when I asked when they would roll out to other states.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a timeline or map of our expansion at this time. We believe by initially solving every delivery, support, and service issue locally, we will be better prepared to provide vehicles regionally and nationally when the time is right. Trust, though we won’t make you wait for long. If the vehicle is registered in California, you may drive it to other states.

And this is when I asked about the Aptera 2h.

The hybrid version will get the equivalent of approximately 250 mpg. We do not yet have complete data on the Hybrid. More information will be made available as we get closer to production.

Aptera will be introducing a new model variant to the market every 6 months or so following the launch of the 2e. All of the 2-model variants will be in market within 18 months of the launch of the 2e.

Hopefully that helps! :wavey:

At the San Diego Automotive Museum event last night, I learned that there is currently no hybrid prototype. Seems like hybrid production is about two years away from delivery to current reservation holders which numbers two thousand. IF 2e delivery actually begins Oct 2009, six months later is a year from today that hybrids might begin to roll off an assembly line.
At what rate?

My guess is that if Aptera doesn't encounter unexpected problems the 2e will be ready to start production during the summer of 2010. That's a guess based on seeing where they are and Paul Wilbur's comments about making sure the car is right.

There are going to be a lot of loose ends, and these take time to clean up.

Hi Lisa,

It hopefully will be available all over the USA in a few years, and if it is successful, it may make the leap to other countries in a few years after that?
