LOL, I've seen the commercials where the guy says Hybrid Check Mate. For 80k you can have an SUV that gets crappy gas mileage.

I hate that commercial. The only ones I don't mind are the ones with the hot white and hispanic women. They only ever seem to show the arrogant dude now.

Hey, don't knock it just because the units suck. The regular Escalade is 12/19. Going from 12-20 mpg saves as much fuel as ecodriving a 48 mpg Prius up to 70 mpg.

And then doing the same thing to four more Priuses.

It still means typically one maroon driving around burning gas at a rate of 20MPG rather than 30MPG that is available in a more sanely sized vehicle or 45MPG or so in the readily available Prius... Never mind an EV - that is another discussion.

The chick ones are ok. But the "does your car return the favor" one is funny. As much as they're sellling caddies for these days it needs to turn you on and then some.

And true going from 12mpg to 20mpg is huge but it's still crappy. But then again, if you can afford one then you can afford to literally burn through money.

As a hybrid car it will probably get a bigger rebate from our stupid government than the Aptera because it only has three wheels....

Who can afford lobbyists...GM and big oil, or Aptera?

Personally I think CA incentives are more likely to promote innovation than our smoke-stack-oriented (vote-oriented) Feds.

In my neighborhood I'm surrounded by SUVs and German luxury cars. Driving a Prius I look unusual already (except for a couple other neighbors with long commutes).

Wait 'til they see the Aptera! Operating and repair costs a fraction!
