It only gets 70 mpg. I bought it to reserve my license plate. Sad thing is that if the Honda Insight shows up before my Typ-1h, I'll probably get it (~20k vs >30k).

Don't you mean $20k vs $25k (rounding)? The Insight has a base price of $20k. The Aptera has a base price of "mid 20s". So unless you're comparing an Aptera loaded with options against an Insight with no options...

The base price of the 1H will probably be quite a bit above "mid 20s"

Raw unassailable logic...and guesswork.

The 1H has always been touted as more expensive than the 1E. The lowest price range given for either 2E or 2H is "mid 20s" which is probably still 27,500 as quoted for the E for some time now (halfway between 25 and 30 and so arguably still mid 20s). Do you really think they will be able to deliver a hybrid for less than that? Any higher and you aren't anywhere in the "mid 20s" you are in the upper 20s or maybe the 30s, but hopefully not the 40s for the base H.

Yeah. $3k more expensive.

Ah, so when you said >30k, you meant right around $30k. I can picture that.

Thanks. It's has a little 49cc engine and cost $849 before taxes. We fell in love with them while in Bermuda, and use it for short little shopping errands.

Hi,

The numbers I've been seeing for the insight are "around $20,000". Example:

Either way, we won't know until next spring for sure. It'll also be interesting to see the EPA mileage figures for it. I'd put my money on... let's say 42mpg combined.

Not a bad price at all.

Interestingly, I'm also averaging 70mpg in this.

It is a Tank, made in China. Belt driven. There are a lot that are better, this was just a toy. Here is a web site ... http://wwww.tank-sports.com/scooters-urban.html. I bought mine here (http://www.suntintscooter.com/) it looks like they are a little more expensive now...$999

This made me think of an idea of aeromodding my Miata (disjointed train of thought, I know). Basjoos, if I recall correctly you pretty much winged it with your Civic, right? I was thinking about getting ahold of a CAD model and trying to use some computational fluid dynamics to see what could be done. I'm sure that with the Miata being such a good-selling car, there should be some CAD models floating around. Anyone care to comment on the feasibility of such a thing?
