View Full Version : Waiting for Lock-in Confirmation.
I sent a message to family@aptera.com as requested to lock-in, but I haven't gotten a response yet. Has anyone else gotten a response?

Give it time. I am sure they are swamped with e-mails right now. Hopefully most of those e-mails are not cancellations.

Seriously. Not sure what they have in terms of IT staff, but personally I'd have automated the processing for the return mails. :)
I'm of two minds about cancelled reservations. On the one hand, it could move me up the reservation list. On the other, it could make the company decide it wasn't economically viable to make/sell the car anymore. :(
My wife and I are already setting aside the money for the Aptera, and should be able to pay cash in full when the production comes around to us. We really want this car. :)

Hi gkra,
I just received my lock in notification email.
Thank you for your request to lock in and your continued support with Aptera Motors!

Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow, maybe some more photos, specs. etc.

I sent a Lock-In email to Family@aptera.com at 5:30 this morning, and had a Confirmation 4 hours later. They cannot be very far behind at this point.

Likewise, I got mine very quickly (sent last night, received today).

Sent 'em an email, as they asked, specifying to lock my reservation in, but I *still* haven't heard back from them. I sent my request in on January 8th.
Anyone else hear back from them yet? I suppose, given all that's going on there, I should give them until July or something. :)

When I sent in my "lock-in" i heard a response in about 10 days. They are quite busy with the TED showing and production. So be patient :-)

I got a confirmation in 4 (four) minutes after I locked in. I recommend you send another email to check whether the first one came through.

I locked-in the first day they asked and never received a confirmation. I personally don't really care much - if they don't offer me the coupon, I will complain then.
If you feel like you really need a response, just send another lock-in letter to family@aptera.com and request a read-receipt - then keep it.

I also asked for the lock-in option last week, but haven’t heard back.
They need to hire a few more public relations people. So far they seem either overwhelmed or tone deaf.
As a former UT employee, I know where they can find a few out of work reporters who would love the paycheck.

Aptera outsources their net-related services.
Well, just heard back from my followup. I'm on the "locked-in" list, and they apologized for the backlog, given how busy they are.
With all that has been going on for them the last month or so alone, I can certainly understand that.

Sorry for my new-ness, what is the difference between getting your reservation and "locking in"?

when you lock in, your $500 becomes non-refundable and you get credit for $750 when yourAptera is delivered.
It does not advance your delivery or have any other advantage.
And welcome

Is there a deadline you have to lock in your reservation by?

I asked them about this a little while ago, and here was their reply:

Subject: RE: APTERA Family! lock-in
We do not have a set deadline for the lock-in program as of yet. In the future we will have a set time frame for lock-in programs and we will further announce the Aptera Family for the lock-in deadline.
Thank you for your continued support with Aptera!

I can't get any answer regarding my reservation
Welcome to Aptera!
You'll get far more "answers" from this forum than you'll ever receive from the company itself. I suggest reading this thread-
http://www.apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=2036
It will tell you all you need to know about the delightful experience Aptera offers it's "reservation" holders. It may not be encouraging, but it is at least honest.
Peace,
William
