FYI y'all-
Part of our refresh of the site includes new Aptera 2e icons on the home page and a cool 2e smilie with front wheel drive and mirrors (yes, they're tiny)!

Woohoo! It's great having you back around; there was a whole thread about that a while back ;)
Mind getting rid of sick0006 while you're at it? :)
P.S. -- Thanks for the new Aptera smilie. ;)

Ok took care of that one too. Thank Mike (c0mp13x (http://apteraforum.com/member.php?u=35)) for the Aptera Smilies. He's the one that made them :)

I have noticed tha Digg This is now slowing the page change for me on the forum. It didn't use to be that way but since the new look, that I really like, is in place. I have issues when I change pages in the forum & I notice digg this stuff on the bottom of the page.

I'm assuming you already know about my issues with this ( http://www.apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=2119 ) but I'll report it again here.
It did not start with the recent changes, but it did seem to start about 1-2 months ago, or at least thats when I began to notice the slowdown. It seems to take 1-2 seconds per post to load the Default scheme due to "waiting for digg...". The greenleaf and greengold do not have this issue. They both load almost instantly.
Others have reported no delays with the Digg, so I'm not sure what is going on. Could it be related to some sort of virus filter on our machines? I'm not sure, and it seems to do it even if I turn off all the virus protection.
I've had to switch to the greengold scheme to avoid the problem, but I prefer the Default scheme, so if it gets resolved, I'll go back to default.

Ok, I got rid of the Digg icon as it doesn't seem like it was something we really need. Let me know if you still experience problems.

Hiya,
The rear view icon is not very accurate -- here's a GIF I made from the rendered image:

Oh boy...
Everybody's an expert around here!
Neil, I appreciate your critique... but please separate your "icon" from it's background shadow, assign transparency to the background so that we don't have to see a white box around it, then size it an appropriate 27 pixels high so that it can be displayed in proper size with the other smilies...
Thanks! :happy0025: :apterarear:

More new smilies...
:logo:  :wavey: :doublethumbs:
And new "reply", "quote", etc. buttons on each page.
I had the thought of having the front Aptera for new posts and the rear Aptera for no new posts...but I never got around to posting that idea.
I like that better than the green and grey Apteras to show whether there are new posts to a forum or not.
Nice job.
G.M.
Ps. Is there a multi-quote option?

Do you think we should use the front or the rear for new posts? I kinda though we should use the front for new posts but the rear stands out more because of the tale lights and might actually be better. Whats everyone's opinion? Front or Rear for new posts?
My only reason was the car is coming at you, so new stuff coming your way.
The car facing away says, see ya, I'm out of here. Plus the red lights do stand out, but they could mean, "Stop, nothing new here to see."
But either is fine with me. Thanks for all the work and all the great changes.
And it is nice to have the admin around more in case we need stuff done and such (private message box size and all that).
Its all good.
G.M.
We could start a poll and see what the members want, or just try it both ways and see how that goes, or just leave it as is.

I think you bring up some good points. I changed them. So now the rear = no new posts, and the front = new posts. :)

...Ps. Is there a multi-quote option?
Sorry! The multi-quote option in vBulletin (our forum software), is featured in ver 3.6 and above. We are on vB 3.5.3 and not eligible for an upgrade.
But... that's what good ol' cut & paste is for! :doublethumbs:

Q-Reply doesn't really seem to do anything, at least for me...I get an hourglass, but nothing else, at least not that I can tell. The window doesn't change any and I used it to make this post in the 'non-Advanced' reply window. I do have a 'Quote message in reply?' check-box, is that the indication?
Edit: Yeah, I guess it works...I just don't see how it is different from using the simple reply box at the bottom of the page.

Quick reply is working fine on my end. This reply was done through it.
