With all the info and discussions over the last two days, TED test ride etc. we sure have gained a lot of knowledge on just what the Aptera is evolning into. Of particular interest to me is the size of the vehicle, much lower now, not as wide..........gotta love it. The tech features discussed in the video are impressive and should grow / get better over time, very nice. Overall, I am very encouraged by the latest info from Josh and company.

This is not an iCar . . . it is a GoogleCar. It looks like Google gave them more than just money.

Very nice josh, thanks!
Great to hear in josh's review (http://www.apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=2196) of the ride that his perception was that it was very quiet. Now that I hear the noise level on the video, it doesn't sound much louder than a golf cart at full speed.
Noise isolation was a concern of mine and obviously, there was a major reduction in drivetrain noise moving the motor from inside the cabin (essentially, in the Typ-1), to the other side of the firewall in the nose of the vehicle (front wheel drive 2e).
Good job Aptera, better traction and handling plus a much more refined cabin... :doublethumbs:

yes, the torrent is working. 2.5 hrs., 5 peers. I'll keep a computer on for the next day or two with the torrent. Hopefully that'll help.

Great audio of the 2e driving down the road! Sounds the same in my NmG. Glad everyone on the forum is getting to hear the sounds of driving electric. Steve's comment regarding reactions from people on the street is right on the money with my experience.
Thanks Josh!!

That's just awesome. You're awesome, Josh. Thank you again, a million times over, for EVERYTHING!!
Like everyone else I much appreciate the video and reporting from Josh. I liked a lot about the vehicle but I had a very negative reaction to the noise level. I had a hard time hearing the conversation due to the whine of the electric motor, and it was clearly that motor noise as it varied with the RPMs. Maybe the videocam's mike was particularly sensitive to it or placed wrong, but I thought it was much louder than the motor noise from my 11-year-old Volvo. Is this the noise level they are proud of achieving, or is this the level they had previously that they have now improved upon? I certainly hope it is the latter. I've driven a Prius in electric mode and it is essentially silent, but this Aptera sure wasn't.

I really liked hearing that the 2e they're showing is 6 months behind their current state of the art. It sounds like what they're going to release in October will be much improved over even the 2e they're showing here.

You captured my reaction exactly. Seemed very noisy and reminded me of the Tango video, which is not a good thing.
Thanks again to Josh!

I'm sure it's the camera. Jeff said in his report on the test drive that it was very quiet, just a little bit louder than a Prius in electric-only mode. And he owns a Prius.

I'm sure they love you too!
Now, in addition to reading your email, logging almost every query you've made to the web, indexing your home computer, storing your documents, being updated of your schedule, crawling huge numbers of public pages for your data, and knowing where you are at all times, they'll know that you nearly got sideswiped on the 76!

Yes, AGC on the audio causes problems - particularly a disconnect between what a normal human perceives and what gets recorded. It just picks up on whatever sound is available and tries to normalize it so that the average recorded sound energy remains about the same.
Thanks A BUNCH to Aptera and Steve Fambro for allowing this video to be shot and freely distributed!!!!!!!!!!
I WANT ONE even more now!!! Just a few things standing in my way. They are not avialable yet, I don't live in California, and I don't have anything like that kind of money at this point in time. Hopefully the California limitation and my lack of funds don't last very long after the Aptera's release into the wild.

If anything, it will be the 15! I am so excited.

Very nice video guys. Thanks for making the effort. Personally I LOVE the sound of the electric motor.... Damn Sexy in my opinion. I am sure it is quiet but I bet it makes a nice noise at high speeds. I kind of half wished that they had stopped their yapping for a sec when they sped up...
Anyone see the first production high speed electric sports bike unveiled at TED? ... I'd pull my reservation for my aptera if it weren't 60-something grand. It is basically battery pack on wheels... Anyway I am glad to finally see a video from the company. It instills some much needed confidence into my perception of the company.

Great to "hear" it in action. Also interesting to get a little bit more info about the Dash/Nav system.

Also this video has a very nice sound of the motor. (from 0.13s) I picture myself taking off from a traffic light and really enjoy the sound of efficiency!
