Today I had my first conversation with an Aptera employee, it was a great experience. Cheyenne Menkee who is the purchasing coordinator, is a pleasure to speak with and her follow through is quick and thorough. I have a great feeling about this company, not just the visionary products, but the people are equally excellent.

Thanks for the question,we discussed additional tv coverage for the Aptera 2e. I produce a show called Planet X and after our meeting, I received and e-mail putting me in touch with the Aptera Marketing Firm, which is in LA. I would like to do some interviews with Aptera staff and shoot the vehicle cruising around the industrial park. To me, the most interesting aspect of the Aptera 2e, are the licensing advantages, being registered as a motorcycle, but not requiring a motorcycle license or a helmet. Inexpensive scooters in the 150 CC range are flooding into the US from China and require a motorcycle license, while these scooters get great gas mileage and are affordable to operate, Aptera has an advantage, by not requiring a motorcycle license. And of course there are many other interesting issues, like aerodynamic efficiency, battery technology, recycled material use, etc. I went to the original Carlsbad location, and had a quick peek into the building where the composite bodies are being made. I didn't want to interrupt any ones work, but I was very curious to see the bodies in various stages. The one closest to me was on a steel support structure and several others that were further along were towards the center of the building. For those of you who are big fans of the Aptera, like me, but live to far away to stop in and bother them in person, let me assure you, there are some very busy workers making things happen quickly. It was very exciting for me to see so many of these vehicles coming together in various stages, that reveal the differences in the layers. The basic composite body is recognizable in a flat dull color early on in the process. While a body in the final white color is more suggestive towards the functional vehicles we have become accustomed to seeing on 'youtube' videos. Keep up the good work Aptera! America is in desperate need of successful inventions like this, to regain our competitive position in the global economy.

Wow, what a diversion Tom with the link in your sig. Your AMX/3 undertakings are very impressive. That's one heck of a sexy looking car. Would be interesting to electrify one of the reproductions...
Thanks for the update too on the body shell manufacturing!

Speednut,
Thanks for checking out my site, I feel bringing the AMX/3 back to life will be a real addition to the streets and car shows. At first we are building the proof of concept prototype with an ICE because we want to show the AMC hobby we can be true to the heritage. But the second one will be electric, I can see that there is much more potential selling the fiberglass body panels to the build it yourselfer EV builder than the few sales we will have in the ICE market.
As far as the Aptera facility, it was very exciting to see so much activity and the bodies coming together in various stages. Aptera is setting a strong example.
