Activation Emails not going out?

Administration,

I have used 2 active registrations, one that is not yet activated,
and a brand new one I just created, and requested emails be sent
from the forum to all of their email addresses, which are a variety
of email addresses, all of which have worked in the past.

Is it possible that the Activation Emails, and the email where
one says that the Userid and Pwd has been forgotton, and the
one where the email address is changed ...
are NOT getting sent, or are waiting somewhere, or are being
filtered out by the SMTP (send mail) service that the forum uses?

I have no other way to account for the lack of emails getting
through to the various email addresses that I have used.

I had some issues with this and pushed it up through AT&T/SBC tear 2 support. That was not fun. Anyway… The well informed and helpful tear 2 Tech checked out some domains including this one and found they are indeed blocking them. I told him that I’ve joined many forums over the years and I’ve never had this happen. He said that they where tightening their filters and that more and more domains are being used by third parties to spam and are being blacklisted.

I just got on the forum a week ago and had problems for two weeks prior to that getting registered (Thanks Gary for helping). I still have not gotten any emails from ApteraForum Admin, but got a message from them on registration through the private messages function after logging in. That might be a little frustrating for some folks.

i am (now) a tadpole and my email came straight through.

i have had that problem before though with my own company where the server is blocked. WHAT A HASSLE!

Admin: If the forum has been black-listed by somebody, then many email nodes will refuse to pass the email. Need to get this fixed ASAP.

Yes, apteraforum.com (IP 66.228.115.231) is currently blacklisted in one of about 120 lists (since about 10 pm on 13 Apr 2008) at backscatter.org apparently for some subtle reasons.

"Loose" configuration of the forum's SMTP (send-mail) server might allow others to SPAM through it, or something like that.
If the email comes in and has many to-addresses, and your SMTP is set up to send that email on to others, then your SMTP can be used to SPAM many, and is "too loose" and you get blacklisted. You cannot send-on any email that does not come from your own "supported" IP.

Admin, this needs attention to get this fixed. It might not block all email, but ... HELP!
