Well, I haven't gotten an email from Aptera since march 3, 2009. Four months+ later. What's up? Just give me some news. Tell me you're still working on things. Good news/bad news/any news. For bhudda's sake, I went out and bought a $10k sportbike a month and a half ago since Aptera was starting to give me the creeps with the media silence. I may just back out now even though I'm #308. Please don't keep me in the dark. Last time I invested in a company and news stopped coming out, I lost $40k. This silence is haunting.
And I know this isn't the first post along these lines, but it bears repeating since there's been no real news in months. And the width going from 91" to 87" at the front wheel skirts is nice, but go measure your parking spaces people. That's about the width of a full-size dually truck.
Anyway, been over a 1 1/2 years since making my first Aptera deposit. At that time, the rollout date was supposed to be oct 2008.
I actually thought Aptera was going to beat other automakers to market by at least a year. Now, it's looking much less likely. Long Sigh. I have only a bit of faith left. Please don't crush it. Like the classic movie from the late 80's..."Say Anything". Anything really would be fine. Good or bad, or even just thoughts.

Apteratude, Ditto.......A simple update newsletter would be nice. I'm sure that Aptera has enough "PR" people to crank out a newsletter via email. Time to write it-less than 30 minutes.
Aptera,
We're waiting...............the silence is deafening............

Maybe somebody should drive-by Aptera's offices and see if anybody is still there...
I too thought Aptera would be the next one out after Tesla but now I'm not to sure -- if the Persu comes out first I'm going with it.

If you have seen *any* evidence that the Persu (http://www.flytheroad.com/) is on track toward actual production, please provide the details. Like the Dagne (http://www.revolutionmotors.biz/revolution/), I think Persu is a great concept, but extremely unlikely to be available before Aptera.

Agreed .
The race is on ! Hopefully. As the old saying goes, 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions.' Or adjusted for contemporary living - 'the road is paved, to hell with good intentions.' ! The Persu does offer one advantage over the Aptera - a narrower track, not likely to accidentally damage a protruding wheel. Still a two passenger vehicle, but will probably appeal mostly to motorcycle enthusiasts. Attractive as the design may be, still will not surpass Aptera on other points. The two different vehicles do have one thing in common - neither have any available to offer serious buyers. I hope that is just a temporary condition.

I don't see what's taking the Persu so long - since its being used in Europe, as the Carver, it would seem it would be easier to adapt to the US than if it were just a prototype.

As far as I know, there is no prototype for the Persu yet. It uses Carver technology, but it is not a Carver vehicle.

So, why doesn't someone just import the Carver? or buy one over there and ship it back home -- air fares are pretty cheap right now (so I hear).

Based on info I read in the persu community boards, it seems as though Carver is in receivership in some fashion...at least, I think that's what I read. Do a search for Persu Forum, and read for yourself, as I may be misremembering.
That being said, having followed both of these companies for a couple of years, I have higher hopes for Aptera than I do for Venture Vehicles (Persu).
I'm hoping that they've got heads down to attempt to meet the end of the year release time frame, but as a software related development type myself, I'm not holding out the highest of hopes, and am just wanting to ensure they have enough VC money to get this vehicle to market.
For me, there's not much point of bugging them repeatedly. When they have something to say, I'm sure they'll be trumpeting it on high. I probably wouldn't have released as much data as they did so far in advance, but those decisions are often based on data that we as the public can't know, and won't ever be shared. Not for me to condemn, but it has been a fascinating diversion to watch the process.
I'm ready to buy one now :)

Google has invested $$$millions$$$ in Aptera so far.
I work a block from Aptera and everytime I walk by their office, the parking lot is full of cars. It looks like a lot of people are working there.

Well, for what it's worth, I was down in Carlsbad yesterday to meet someone and decided to try a drive-by. I was just hoping for a glimpse of one of the vehicles, but I was too late in the day. I finally drove up to the Loker Avenue facility at about 5:10 pm. While I didn't spot one of the vehicles, I managed to get a picture of the Aptera sign outside the facility. I thought I would have to settle for that, but there was someone closing the door just as I took my picture. I didn't get much out of her, but I did ask if Aptera was still on for production in the fourth quarter of this year. Her answer was, "Yes, it is." So, while that is very little to go on, it is still something.

After reading all the posts about how quiet Aptera is being, I figured that I should e-mail them with my concerns as well and below is thier reply. I'm glad that they responded rather quickly. Personaly, it makes me feel a little better and I thought I would share it with all of you:
[I]We are working very hard to make sure the Aptera 2e will go into production launch in the 4th quarter of this year, we understand people frustrated with no news. We will be sending a new newsletter soon so stay tuned for that.
At this time, we are in the process of producing vehicles that will go through internal and external evaluation for fit, finish, performance and durability. Volume production and delivery will begin in the 4th quarter of this year for the Aptera 2e. We will provide a build schedule and more announcements and details in regards to the Aptera 2h following the launch of the 2e.
Thank you for your continued support with Aptera!
Best Regards,
