nothing really new in the past few months other than the leaked photo that can be found here...

which actually is pretty big news. It certainly has peaked all of our interest again.

In the words of the great French detective Inspector Clouseau,

"Let me bring you up to speed...
We know nothing.
You are now up to speed"

Sorry I didn't notice this thread earlier.

Really? Nobody remembers any news from the past several months? Say, like the leak of what the final version of the Aptera is to look like? Or the Aptera bill in congress? Or great new pictures (like, for example, the Mirage Dry Lake shot)?

No, there hasn't been a delivered vehicle yet, but there has been news.

You know, I think almost all of that happened AFTER Gina started the thread? The Bill was in congress but didn't have much traction and everything else is real recent...

Well, to roughly sum up the past five to six months:

* Cabin is 10% larger. Legroom comparable to a Mini and a Volt
* Center console is "Eva", after WALL-E, and is a ridiculously overpowered compute platform.
* Three seat options: soy foam, leatherette, and leather.
* Aptera states that the 2e can go 100mph on 23hp and 200mph on 150hp; refuses to confirm or deny that they've actually done it
* Online Aptera-gear store opens at long last
* Chris Anthony multitasks; launches solar boat and, more recently, EV component company
* Aptera applies for $75m of DOE funding; gets denied. A congressman from their district attaches it as a rider to an energy and water bill, which has now passed the senate.
* Ten new Aptera videos come out, including one that starts a rumor that Aptera is working with Best Buy
* Someone peeks into Aptera's window and sees four-door car designs.
* AAA announces that they'll insure the 2e.
* Aptera becomes an active twitterer. Still not very regular on the Daily Charge or Newsletters
* After the Volt announces 230mpg on the new EPA cycle, and Nissan counters by announcing 367 for the Leaf, Aptera counters by announcing 851 for the 2e.
* Picture leaked. Appears to come from a CAD program for making tooling. Dated from early August.
* Aptera.com goes down briefly; panic ensues.
* Tons of debates over every aspect of EV tech and what the 2e is capable of.
* Aptera admits that the literal translation of "Aptera" isn't "Wingless Flight", but says that's what they mean for the vehicle to make you think of.
* Aptera makes several showings, including a fundraiser for Plug-in America
* Various new pics, such as the great El Mirage shot.

I post updates to her FaceBook page from this forum. She lives (actually, she has a business) in the same little burg I live in, though I have not met her. She actually lives a few miles away.

hey! funny, but i haven't received any of updates on this thread until i got the one from jstdadd. Thanks Mark!!!

And thanks Karenrei for the list.

i had heard about AAA approving the insurance. and the DOE funding off of twitter, but not the energy rider. i just think that that whole 3 wheel business is such malarky!

I paid off my Jeep this month, so i'm all ready for my Aptera!

Seeing you're number 966 for a Hybrid you might aswell buy another car and in 5yrs you might be close to getting it.

Maybe we should dress up in local news attire so we can actually talk to the people of Aptera and get answers to real questions. Oh, like, how's that assembly coming along??????? It's the fourth quarter so you should be delivering some Apteras soon.
