View Full Version : ApteraForum.com Too Moderated

I want to participate in apteraforums.com but it is too moderated. Similar threads are deleted, and I feel dejected. I then get referred to another thread, but I no longer care. I just want my thread to survive. Let newbies participate.
Threads should just be able to die on their own.

motoxo, not sure if you are being sarcastic, hehe oh well. thx for posting to my thread anyways.
But I regularly come to apteraforums.com. I am thinking half of my threads have been deleted. On other forums I go on there is a lot more participation and threads, even if they are duplicates, are allowed to remain. They just die over time because more useful threads push them down.
Here it is so moderated I don't feel like participating. Maybe it's just me, but maybe other users feel the same.

I think it's just you. And I'm not a moderator, but if I were, I'd move this thread to the Off-Topic section. :P

No threads or posts are deleted. Spam is deleted.

I've only seen a handful of posts be locked, and it was because they ran off-topic and people started being jackasses to each other.
On the other hand, if you make a post and put it in the wrong section, you should expect it to be moved to a more appropriate one. In particular - this thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Aptera 2e or 2h and should not be in this category. In fact, there is a "Forum Related Discussion" topic that fits this thread to a T.

evmavin,
If that is the case you are hurting my feeling more by calling my legitimate threads spam. Cry.
I've been to this site and and off and I assure you 100% my threads were not spam, but real threads meant for discussion and exploration.

I'm not sure what your specific issues are can you site them please so they can be addressed? If you had anything deleted the moderators here will know who has removed anything.

By the way, I can see all of your posted threads:
"Why I Got Electric vs Hybrid"
"What if I want a 2g instead of 2h?"
"New Newsletter Too Little Too Late?"
etc..

Yes, that is my post which was moved by a moderator. It originally was under a topic I created.
Matthijs, I applaud you for being a moderator, but the fact that my topic was deleted and my post (that you referred to above) was moved to another existing topic is what I am talking about. I just feel like it's too moderated here.
I can see a moderator temporarily banning bickering members, but moving posts doesn't make a newbie feel too good. Maybe it's ok to have duplicate topics. At other forums I go to which I've been a member for years I see duplicate posts all the time from newbies, and more often than not members are willing to help out.

Ok so this forum needs to be like all other forums? If you read the guidlines we made up you could have seen how we prefer to handle posts. In this case we already had 3 topics on the subject. So please keep contributing here but please respect the little guidlines we have. Also note that nothing you posted on the forum was deleted.

Ok, maybe this forum is not for me. I'll prob go hide in my shell for a while and I might come back if I am welcome. I'll continue to post to this thread though. As a long term newbie I have never felt like I really participated here, except with this thread.
I will note that my posts were not deleted, but my topics were indeed deleted.

If you do not feel welcome here that is a pity. All your posts are still on the forum and I asked nicely if you would like to keep contributing. You can also reply to posts all you want. So we deleted one topic because we already had 3 similar ones? I hope you will be fine with our guidelines and keep posting. It is just the way we choose to deal with postings. Thank you.

i'd like to say that find this forum to be a thriving community of very smart individuals about a car that we'll all probably never get to buy.
... i applaud and thank our volunteer moderators.
(i do sometimes feel like the "special" one of the group since i only understand about 50% of the physics and probably none of the equations.)
