Good luck selling those in the states. Those look like modified low-budget Euro cars.

From what I gather that is exactly what they are. They are manufactured in Europe and are using some sort of heated sulfur battery to get the long range at low cost. I agree, it sounds like a risky business plan.

280 mile range and the charge is 6-8 hours on (European?) household power? Very medium, pedestrian, extremely bland, mega-vanilla looks...

You got it all right after the first sentence?

website says nickel sodium chloride batteries (Zebra?), ac motor, meets motor vehicle safety standards, airbag, ABS, and 200+ range all for around 30K after tax credit.
Who cares about the looks? I don't.
Seems like a pretty good deal.
However, something doesn't add up. Video says 280 mile range and charge 6-8 hours from 110v plug. That simply can't be possible. Maybe 280 mile range at 10 mph?

Seems like the euro version of Phoenix Motors (http://www.phoenixmotorcars.com/)

It would have pretty good range if it were always running down hill as it is shown in the video.

No weight, no HP/kW specs, no battery size, no details on charging, no wh/mi. Have these guys even built one yet?

The car you see in the video is a Dacia Logan MCV. They are build in Romania and owned by wait for it...Renault. The Renault name is also on every car they sell. And they are sold cheap. You can get the car in the video as a ICE version for €9000. All cars use older platforms, engines and parts from trusted Renault design. They are selling like crazy in the budget market for people who just want a roomy car but not looking for styling. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_Dacia

They aren't Zebra brand batteries but the same type. 24 kWh worth which is not going to get you the 200 miles they claim unless you're crawling along your entire charge.

What's perhaps an import message for potential (U.S. customers) is that they never acknowledged these are Renault-Dacia donors, instead you hear "partners", "european" etc. I guess they had their guy on EVcast and Ryan pressed him on this issue, and he weaseled out. And I doubt it's just because they could have arranged some contract with Renault to debage the car/e-conversion from the ICE OEM. So, it tastes more like another doze of some EEstor co. again..
