I have Google Voice with an invite. But I can only reach it with an unsecured American proxy because otherwise it will be blocked. No GV yet where I live. And I rather not use that line to fill in my user/pass info.

Matthijs, should look at amazon ec2 for temp proxys. Cheap and easy to start and not having to worrie about is the gateway im using safe or not.

I've worked with proxys for years if your looking for options.

EC2 has a bit of a learning curve. I'd know; we host our servers there now ;) It's easy once you get used to it, but until then...

until then....rightscale.com has a great easy to use point and click interface for getting started on ec2. For basic use the service is free, I've been waiting for amazon to buy them.

If you would like another option. Linode.com has a GREAT interface for hosting.

Amazon is fun I had a pool of proxys that I would have one auto relaunch every hour to get a new IP. I think I've been on just about every public IP amazon has at one time or another. We do about 15tb a month via this system. I do not allow traffic from my "real" colo to go direct, everything is via proxys to protect the public side of my net at all costs.

Well that's an option. Hope you did not pay to much for it because they are not really rare anymore.

Thanks about the proxy tips everyone. I should try it out. I do not know if GV will work here though, that should be cool.

nope. two bucks. looked everywhere and signed up on google for an invite a few times... never could nab one.... but, it' s better than the three bucks a month verizon charges for their visual voicemail.
