There will be three vehicles in the Megacity Vehicle family, bundled together under the Project i moniker: a two-wheeler, a three-wheeler, which steers by leaning like a BMW's super-exotic Street Carver skateboard, and the model-year-2014 four-wheeler the firm is now beginning to discuss.

Thanks for that link. There I read that the 4-wheel vehicle will be introduced in 2014:

So I am not sure how seriously to take this news.

Once I knew they were crash testing it, well I knew BMW was taking it seriously...maybe not enough to make, but enough to throw testing at

They have spent some years and tech on this...and BMW does like making cars and motorcycles...how about a mash up of the two?

Wow, this article is even better. I'm getting excited about this. I just wish they were one year closer than 2013. Carbon Fiber Frame pic and sketch included.....

Probably later, I bet it will be costly when finished.

Can't say I disagree with you. Disappointment seems to be the theme with electric cars these days. However, I'm definitely more confident in the big car companies and BMW in particular with schedules. They've done this a few times before and know what it really takes. Plus they are less likely to put spins on things for the sake of investors and IPOs. I see this car getting priced around the same range as the 1 Series. Trading some performance (power) for efficiency but with approx. the same level of luxury and driving dynamics like rear wheel drive and above average handling and brakes.

I guess the most exciting thing is the carbon fiber technology. It seems interesting that they would apply this to a small, less expensive car first. I'm wondering if it will have an interesting "trickle up" result to the rest of the BMW lineup. I think we can all agree that weight savings is the single best factor in improving almost every performance category you can dream up.

Ha! That's kind of what I was thinking. That steep windshield is NOT the same windshield that's on the car in the sketch is it?

They are quoting $25K. I'd have thought more like $50K ... but as they say, vaporware is always cheaper.

BMW would not comment on pricing of the MegaCity, which is some three years from launch. However, officials hint that the business case for the car is based on sales of 50,000 per year at a base price of 20,000 euros, or about $25,000 at current exchange rates--a little less than double that of the entry-level Ford Fiesta in Europe.
