Boo!
The stated reason why they're choosing white is because of "high visibility", but I think the real factor is so they can keep costs down - at first.
To the Aptera peeps reading (I see you!) ;) when you offer more colors, there are several more which would have high visibility yet offer some difference for Aptera owners:
* Pearl white
* Metallic White
* Yellow
* Silver
(etc)
These are all light colors which could present similar high visibility, please consider them.
Personally, I'm hoping for Red (even though it isn't high visibility at night).
There is hope. From the FAQ:
Currently white is the only color that will initially be made available on the Aptera. White is a very effective color for keeping your Aptera cool in the summer and it makes the vehicle very identifiable at night which is an added safety feature. After initial production has begun we will look at different colors and possibly vinyl graphics to accessorize your Aptera.
One neat idea: pinstriping in the direction of the laminar flow, to highlight just how aero this vehicle is. They really would be "go-faster stripes"! ;)

White's just fine w/me; personalization is quite simple with graphics.
A nice big sticker of my middle finger waving to the oil companies would suit me just fine :D

It is pearl white. I would love to see some additional colors in the same high visibility range.

It does not look Pearl white at all. It looks fleet car white.
Pearl white would be pretty sweet though. My top choice if it had to stay white..

The main reason that most fiberglass vehicles are white is to keep the skin temperature from getting hot enough on a hot sunny day to degrade the resin in the fiberglass matrix (which ocurs at about 180F). You could get away with a black Aptera in Fairbanks or Oslo, but definately not in Phoenix.

So, occasionally I like to stick a set of Flower-Power magnetic stickers onto my white (don't know what shade) Honda Fit. Sometimes I like to get stares from others on the road, just a quirk of mine, I guess.
Anyway, will my Flower-Power magnetic stickers stick on the Aptera's body? If so, will my range go way down when I use them? ;-}} (double-chin blink)

Not that I want one, but a corvette can be had in a spectrum of colors.

Maybe someone can photoshop some different colors/graphics ideas and post them up here?

I'd like to make one of those magnetic signs for my business and put it on my aptera. Think of all the looks you'd get.
BUT
Apteras shell is composite. I'm not sure it'll have magnetic properties.
Alternate solutions other then that "wrap" stuff which is semi permanent? (5 yrs)?

I'm not sure what you mean by "magnetic signs", but I wouldn't put anything that could interfere with air resistance on the outside. Signs on the inside that look out should be fine. I.e., if you want to mount a bumper sticker, don't bother exposing the sticky side, and just tape it to the rear glass.

I really like the Aptera's engineering and innovation. In that spirit, I think it would be geeky-cool to have a CFD mesh in vinyl overlaid on the body showing pressure or velocity gradients. It would take some time to photoshop, but to give you the idea it might look something like red on the nose and front of the wheel covers where pressure is relatively high, then fades to orange/yellow, then blue/green past the roof and on rearward facing surfaces. And if you really want to get the point across you could add the legend, with actual pressures and corresponding colors.
I will be the first to vote against silver! This is not a car of the masses, just yet.. should be dignified with unique color choice, or the ever simplistic white. Looks like an airplane without wings. I may put a tail number on mine :)
