Very interesting article.

1. Aptera puts down the Li-Ion vehicle as a "one off". I suppose they didn't split the money...
2. Clarification that they fell short of the 200 MPGe even though that is the number advertised on their truck.
3. They have a new investor: NRG, a New Jersey electric company.
4. They continue to say their vehicle weighs 1800 lbs which is only in their dreams. The explanation from Aptera will be, that's the production version weight.

Thanks so much for the article link. My interest level is back up to 20% after completely dismissing the Aptera due to its dismal X-Prize performance and being depressed that there was no other EV candidate to feasibly replace it.

The investor is not new. This was already announced in April. See here: http://apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=4228

Remember all press info now (because no one is paid to do any real journalism/fact-checking) is simply going to parrot the distortions of PW and MM.
Any potential Aptera buyers need to do their homework.
Xprize verified real-world, real-pavement mpge at 167
The car weighs 2200 pounds
Without super-tight suspension--I literally could NOT push the tail down--the car would've barely passed lane change avoidance...if at all
Aptera is not releasing coast-down figures...that's REAL wind/rolling resistance, and they're not talking
I don't know about the rest of the forum, but a company driving a semi with a giant 200MPGE on the side and hocking what is in on-pavement reality a 167mpge (Xprize validated--179 at best) vehicle...that speaks volumes to me.
Then they have the nerve to call Li-Ion, a company that will beat them into actual production, as a "one-off" vehicle? That's laughable.
Li-Ion isn't lying about their 187mpge vehicle. Aptera is lying about their 167/179mpge vehicle.
Aptera is the reason I called one of my blog posts "Honesty". Honesty will become a subject on the lips of anyone dealing with Aptera.
