This just in! My wife just called me on her way in to work at Clemson University claiming to have seen an Aptera on the back of a truck...I begged her to stop and take a picture, but she had passed it and wouldn't stop. There is some kind of technology career fair going on today...maybe they came here to show it off? I will try to substantiate her claims by getting her to take some pictures later today, or go over there myself to find out! I will keep you updated. Sorry in advance if she is pulling my chain and saw some other space-age looking vehicle.

If it is an Aptera, this could substantiate my claim that Aptera might use Clemson University's CUICAR location between here and Greenville, SC for further research or limited production. Clemson is already heavily invested in "Green" technology and is hosting a facility for electric buses (proterra) at CUICAR. I don't remember the specifics, but I believe they use similar A123 battery technology.

The third option is (and probably the most likely) that they are searching for additional funding and Clemson would like to fund something like this at their facility.

Sorry I should have posted this in the news section...can somebody please move it?

I went to Clemson's campus for lunch and the Aptera was indeed there. It was an earlier model that we have all seen before, but still, to see it in person is something else! It was not accompanied by any Aptera personnel though. Instead, some of the guys from the Borg Warner plant had it shipped to their plant in Seneca, SC so they could show it off at the career fair since their gear box is the one being used.

So really no new information here. The Borg Warner guys seemed confident the vehicle was going into production, but again they hinted at the delay for government funding...

I'm just happy to see it here! I had no idea that their local plant here in Seneca would be the one producing the gear box.
