One thing I noticed from looking at these pictures is... the solar panel design (http://www.flickr.com/photos/aptera/2314293715/) has changed.

Here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/aptera/2195488057/sizes/l/) is what it used to be...

Do you think they made it better? More efficient?

Different manufacturer, most likely. Who knows how the stats have changed. Probably not much.

Do you think they made it better? More efficient?Probably better, looks like the cells are packed tighter together in a hexagon configuration, rather that the circular configuration on the previous prototype. Cost is always a consideration too.

Note also that this "newer" (not sure?) prototype has the black suspension boots (where the front suspension arms connect to the body), rather than the white boots on the "older" prototype. The white boots may look nice, but they may not weather (might turn yellow) as well as the black...

I don' think the solar cells you are referring to are even on the Aptera. Look again at the picture. Something is off. All photos to date show the same cells.

Go check the Karma photos. They have a similar cell pattern to that.

G-Jet you're right, that's the Aptera in the background of those pictures. Those hexagonal solar cells must be on the roof of the Karma.
