I was a big Volt fan a few years ago, but things have changed lately. In reading some posts over at gm-volt.com, I'm concerned that Volt owners might be "consumed" with finding a receptacle to charge in their attempt to never use gas. Instead of "range-anxiety" with the Leaf or Aptera, Volt owners might experience "charging anxiety".

Thoughts?

Regardless, it would just be nice to simply have the opportunity to BUY one these vehicles......

These awards are for 2011, not 2010.

The Leaf has already been pushed back to January, except for a handful of deliveries. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a similar story for the Volt.

Personally, I will consider the Volt and Leaf to both be launching in 2011. It has become all too obvious that they are making a few select deliveries right at the end of 2010 just so they can get the publicity and say that they launched in 2010.

If they had just come out with the damn thing the Aptera could have easily won a bunch of these prizes.

Congratulations to the Volt. These are exciting times for electric and hybrid vehicles.

I hope the Volt and the Leaf are wildly successful so the changeover to electric continues to thrive.

EPA numbers for the Volt are finally out:

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/24/2011-chevy-volt-gets-93-mpge-and-37-mpg-rating-from-epa/

93 MPGe on electricity, 37 MPG on gas, and 35 miles of electric range.

Less efficient than the Leaf's 99 MPGe, which makes sense considering the Volt weighs 400 lbs more.
