Thanks for sharing GCustom.
Kind of a rehash, but it's nice to see different perspectives.
I saw the reference of carpool lane usage again.
I really hope this is the case.

Yeah, my nearest carpool lane is pretty far away, but its a nice feature to have anyway.

I'm in the heart of Orange County. It's a pretty major factor here.
I used to run my 3 wheeler in the carpool lane, and always thought:
3 wheels <1500lbs=motorcycle=carpool lane w/1 person
From what I've seen and read, Steve Fambro thinks the same way.
According to the CHP, that doesn't appear to be true.

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc21714.htmSmaller, non-enclosed 3 wheelers still do qualify for the carpool lane, you must refer to the definition of this type of 3 wheeler in section 27803 (f) of the CA VC.
The thread linked below, contains a link to that VC section and a full discussion of this forum's speculation on the Aptera's qualification for the HOV lanes.
It seems that the Typ-1e will qualify for the CA HOV lanes, while that Typ-1h probably won't. The rules may change in the future and the official word on this from Aptera has yet to be heard.

Yea, that's the thread that broke the reality to me:(
What did you see that has you thinking the Typ-1e qualifies?
I asume it's because it's electric.

What did you see that has you thinking the Typ-1e qualifies?See the linked thread under the "Good news 2 (http://www.apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=303&highlight=carpool)" section. I read section 5205.5 (a)(1) (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5205_5.htm) of the CA VC to mean that the Typ-1e qualifies as a SULEV and gets a HOV lane sticker. I'm no expert and I could be wrong.

Yeah -- the program ran out of stickers for hybrids. The Typ-1e isn't a hybrid. The Typ-1h is. For the Typ-1h, there still is the hope that they'll make "plug-in hybrids" a separate category.
