I will buy an aptera or a venture one / persu or the vw 1L
whoever gets theirs into production first,
BUT i will not buy all of them.
Don't these company's see this, that those of us that want something of this nature are willing to buy it if they would just make it. but we are not going to be able to buy one from each manufacturer, so the first one to be put into production will probably be the only one to succeed and the others will have lost their market....
its a frickin motor cycle with an extra wheel and roof and doors...
they tryin to re-invent the wheel or what!!!!:jumping0006:

Yeah, I'd snap up an Aptera right away, as soon as they get distributed to the east coast. The VW also looks interesting, though I prefer the extreme simplicity of a pure EV. I'm not really familiar with the Venture One.
I think much of the problem for Aptera up until now has been reducing the cost of the manufacturing process to something that is sustainable. Apparently, composite production is very labor-intensive. A recent article (forget which one) mentioned that the newest fully complete prototype, the SO-1, was considered to be worth $1 million. While this value is probably some insurance figure and more than what it actually cost to build, I wouldn't be surprised if the SO-1 cost at least $100k to build.
It appears that Aptera is working on an SO-2 prototype right now, so should be continuing to refine the manufacturing process. I just hope they can hang on monetarily until production.

A quick look-up on Wikipedia and trip to Persu's website "fly the road" reveals a tilting 3-wheeler, based on Carver technology, with a single wheel up front, 2-wheel motor pack in the back, and a system that auto-banks the car up to 45 degrees, thus leaning into corners. It claims good handling and must be a trip to drive, although I'd want to see it handle the "moose test". Unfortunately for EV fans, initial models are scheduled for ICE and hybrid technologies in 2014, with some thought given but no schedule posted for an EV version. 2014 of course is the "distant future" with no assurance of meeting deadlines, which is a little depressing given that they've been at it for at least as long as Aptera.
