This is a new vehicle, to me anyway:

I like this rear wheel design.

I like it. Much better than the T3.

Same general price point as the Aptera. Hmmm.

This has been in the works for at least 3 years now. Good for T3. I did the original design on their T3motion security/police vehicle.

Is there an optional roof?

Sweet. The police vehicle did look cool. Amazing design on the Palomar - thanks for sharing with us.

@Neil: there is a nifty soft top.
@Grendal: Thanks. FYI the images on my blog are NOT of any Palomar work done for Aptera. It springs from my Ultralight 3.0 project and some continuing aero vehicle work.

That's great news considering everything at Aptera seems to have gone down a black hole.

80-100 mile range on an 18kWh battery pack equates to about 175 wh/mi - not very inspiring but probably realistic for this design.

Signed up for the email news on the website, got this response:
"With its aerodynamic styling and proven T3 Motion intelligent power management battery system, the two-passenger GT3 combines driving pleasure and environmental responsibility into a very stylish package with a top speed of 70 mph. The GT3 is quiet, comfortable, fun to drive and environmentally friendly with an operating cost of just pennies per mile. The vehicle’s AC induction motor is powered by lithium-polymer battery technology and has a range of 80-100 miles per charge. GT3 will be priced between $35,000 and $42,000."

Price point seems to be a little higher than previously announced. $40k is a bit pricey for this.

Wonder whatever happened to the Saba Roadster. Have sent them several messages with no response.

Didn't know they were calling it "GT3". The name and looks are rather similar to VW's abandoned three-wheeler, the GX3.

I presume the top speed is controlled electronically. To me, 70 mph is too slow for real freeway driving. I often find I need to go faster than that just to keep from getting run over.

Other than that, I would have to see one in person to make up my mind about it's suitability. (I never was fond of tandem seating.)

My NmG top speed is 79 mph, and accelerates faster than a Scion Tc merging onto the freeway (had to pass one on the on-ramp to south-bound SR 87 from south-bound US 101).

Yeah, I could live with a top speed of 80 or 85, especially if there is good acceleration up to the limited speed.

The EV1 raced right up to 80 and then limited (although it would gather more speed coasting downhill with regen off, which surprised me). 80mph was quite adequate; only a few times, I wished it would hit 85.
