I have been reading what you folks have been posting and I must say that there are some very good ideas being discussed here. The question I have is - is this forum affiliated with Aptera Motors? Do any of the ideas you folks express viewed by the owners of Aptera? If not, is there any way to establish a connection? No matter how great new ideas or mods, they won't come to any fruition unless the company is aware of them. I would think that, in the interests of making the public knowledgeable, Aptera would establish some type of response mechanism besides the newsletter, which has yet to appear. Any ideas re this ?

This is not an official Aptera forum. Look at the text in the picture at the top of the forum page. It says "the unofficial forum for the car of the future."

We do know that some Aptera officials read the forum. Whether they implement any of our ideas remains to be seen. They have a close deadline for going into production, so design changes are getting more and more difficult for them to comtemplate.

Hey, quick question -- I was looking at the picture of the Aptera, and for some reason, I had been thinking that the green logo on the left hand side of the vehicle just in front of the base of the windshield was the cap that opened up to charge. But then I remembered seeing some pics of it charging from the back behind the driver's side door, seached, and found them. So, what is the green thing on the front -- just a logo? A low-drag equivalent of a hood ornament? :)

Maybe the cap where you put the fuel in for the hybrid? But probably not.

I think it is just a stickon logo. That is a perfect place for the company's logo. Putting it at the nose like everyone else would ruin the beauty of this car. Unless they put 2 of the same logo side by side at the nose to make them resemble nostrils then it's ok. Then I would definitely consider a shark mouth. ;)

Just thinking about the gas cap for the hybrid...they should do it like they did in the old cars that had them behind the license plate.

I'm not so sure it's a stick-on logo. It appears to have depth. If it is a stick-on logo, it's pretty thick.

My hope? I hope they use it for an optional (or standard!) quick charge port. It's right by the battery packs, after all. But I doubt it, as I would have thought they'd have mentioned that option already if they were planning on it. But one can hope. :)

Hey, come to think of it, even if they don't offer it as an option, since it looks like it is its own "panel" that could be removed, if that indeed was the case, it would make adding a quick charge mechanism aftermarket all the easier. No need to make a new hole in the body. Of course, it could just be a very thick stick-on logo.

The green logos on the Aptera body are back lit emblems. One on the front driver side and one on the rear passenger side. They appear to be green translucent plastic, back lit with LEDs. When the Aptera is seen at night these logos glow green when the power is on, they should be very cool looking when you're cruising around.

The position of the front emblem does not seem to be an ideal place for a charge port or gasoline (Typ-1h) filling as the wheel housing and suspension arms restrict access to that area.

These videos briefly show the green logos lit up at night:

...The question I have is - is this forum affiliated with Aptera Motors? Do any of the ideas you folks express viewed by the owners of Aptera? If not, is there any way to establish a connection?Oh yeah, Don to answer your original question, this forum is not factory sponsored, but representatives from the Aptera factory read discussions on this board frequently. They do take our discussions into consideration. Communication between this board's admin and the factory has been established and they do try to answer some of our questions.

But... the design of the Aptera is revolutionary and we all must understand that the factory does not want to say too much about their product because of how competitive the EV market is. We are all living in an era and witnessing a firestorm of change in the automotive world, and the Aptera is poised to be a big part of it...

Admin confirms direct contact with the Aptera factory (http://www.apteraforum.com/showthread.php?t=370)

Still... if it's backlit, that means that it does indeed have depth and is cut through the panel, hence it would be a good spot for an aftermarket mod for a quick charge port if they don't have one by default.

@ 43 seconds on the first video you can see that it definately isn't a stick on of any type
