How do you plan to do it? Two of you drive down to Carlsbad and then drive it back and have the other follow you? Fly down, drive it home? Or take it home on a flat bed? Or another way I haven't thought of. For me, it will be a 450 mile drive down there.

Maybe take the train down (from Los Angeles).

I assume that us NorCal folks will pickup our vehicles from the planned sales office in the bay area (was it Menlo Park?). The LowCal folks will migrate to San Diego.

gg222, if you want to establish a relationship with your local NorCal dealer for sales, service and support, you'll only have to drive about 60 miles. Mr. Fambro tells us in the video linked below, that just weeks/months after sales start in SoCal, that the very first northern California dealer will open in Menlo Park. Maybe next to the Tesla dealership! Ha! :D

I'm SURE that in the green spirit, they will offer to pick you up from the train station in Carlsbad... in an Aptera... and bring you to the dealership.

I was thinking of adding the optional wings and pusher propjet and fly it from the airport located conveniently just a few blocks from the factory.

Living in the central coast, I haven't nailed down how to get there. My wife could drive me down, but I want us to drive it back together to bask in the glow that I imagine will exist while driving this car down the road, visit with some family along the way, and ensure both of us fall in love with the car the way a new born falls in love with the first adult they are exposed to. I'm sure I'll feel like a kid at christmas, it would be negligent not to share that experience with my wife. I'll have to ask my brother to drive us down.

I saw that same setup in the latest J C Whitney catalog.

I might be willing to deliver your vehicle to you, if you cannot go get it.
I am in southern Orange County, 47 miles from of the Aptera office.
But, first, we need production to start ... and for those 1e owners,
are you over 120 miles away?
More likely, most potential "new owners" will probably choose
to visit the nearest "Aptera Dealer" and do at least a test drive
before signing the paperwork.

Aptera is only 91 miles from where I live. I live close to Idealab. My wife and I must test drive it before we can decide to buy it. It would be best if we drive down there.

Hey good idea on the coaster. Still need help getting TO the coaster though lol.
I was planning on maybe making it a 2 trip thing; go one day to inspect and test drive. Take 24 hours to THINK it over (this is partially an emotional buy, and it's big), and then drive up with a friend the next day to go pick her up.
Aptera may end up offering deliveries, or pickups from the coaster. So I think if thats the case I may drive to the coaster, park my car, go get the new one, and then have a friend give me a ride to go get my car from the coaster. I will probably still try to get a 24 hr period to think it over. (Even if it means I'm so excited I can't sleep)

I am 20-30 miles from Carlsbad, my office mate(production# me+1) and I will probably get a ride from someone in my office during lunch and pick-up the car(s).

I don't know how my intermediary will pick up my Typ-1e, but I'll get mine by car carrier :)
