Very nice. Lots of people read Newsweek.

A good article, by the way.

"Not that a $30,000 two-seater that requires eight hours of recharging will be everyone's ideal car."

I had the impression it would be a much quicker recharge, is this accurate information?

"He's presold 1,300 Apteras without spending a dollar on advertising "

I can't picture that being accurate. I think the author is confusing charge times of different EVs. Even with a 15A wall outlet and a completely dead battery, it should only take 5 1/2 hours or so.

Charge time depends a lot on the efficiency of the charging system.

Assuming the batteries are 10,000 kWh, and 117 volts,
15 amps ... and drained, and linear in the energy needed
to charge them ...

At 100%, 10,000 / (15 * 117) = 5.7 hours.
At 85%, it goes up to 6.7 hours.

In any case, it seems to be longer than a "fast" charge,
but noticeably less than 10 hours.
