From http://www.triplepundit.com/pages/aptera-entrepreneur-developed--002855.php

"This electric version of the car tops out at 80 mph and it can go 70 miles at that speed between charges."

I thought that it was going to top out at 95mph and that it would go probably 80 or so miles on a charge. I can understand the range being very significantly limited because of increased speed, but would I be mistaken to say that increasing the battery capacity at the expense of weight (and therefore efficiency) is worth it?

Anyway, I hope the numbers are wrong (it's the most recent article on Aptera, though). The 400 sign-ups is definitely dated information!

The information strongly resembles that of the LAT article found here:

LAT Article (http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/highway1/la-hy-throttle2jan02,1,7205902.story?coll=la-news-highway_1&ctrack=5&cset=true) I think that is the only research that was done by this writer for his article. But where did you get your numbers? I hope the aptera will be produced more like the MK0 prototype so smaller tires, even less weight and even less drag. I hope they can pull it off. :)

According to the FAQ (http://www.aptera.com/ask.php) on the Apetera website, they aren't able to report hard performance numbers yet. They do say that that top speed will be over 85 mph.
