It's probably way too early to get answers to these questions but I thought I'd ask anyway just in case someone has heard something:

* I realize the lack of a servicing infrastructure is a major issue when it comes to out-of-state sales, but any idea when Aptera plans to sell their vehicles outside California? Are there other reasons why they are being sold only in California?

*Obviously if an Aptera was taken out of state the owner would have to deal with any potential repair issues, but can an Aptera be purchased in California and driven to another state, or are they only going to be sold to California residents?

* I've heard the Aptera tracks and steers nicely, but does anyone know how quiet the hybrid model is expected to be? And how comfortable the ride is?

* Anyone know what brand of engine is expected to go into the Hybrid model?

1) No announcement on dates for out-of-CA sales yet. They only have limited production capacity to start with, so they're limiting sales to where they can provide the best service.

2) Yes, you can purchase a car in CA and take it elsewhere. No, you cannot purchase a car if you're not a CA resident. If you're an out-of-stater, you'll need a CA intermediary for your purchase. You wouldn't be the first to do so ;)

3) Unknown. They've stated they're going to put noise suppression in the final models, but it's anyone's guess as to how quiet it will ultimately be. Same with seats; the seats in the prototype are going to be replaced with more conventional bucket seats, so you can't really judge from the pre-production prototypes. Other comfort features are standard, like climate control.

4) Unknown. There's some indication that the electric drivetrain may be from AC Propulsion, though (it's from a CA company with 14 million miles on similar drivetrains; not too many options there).

re the hybrid model....none of us will know as Aptera doesn't have a test model yet...the only Apteras you see in videos or on the road are the all electric model

Hey, SR-71 !!

You signed up! Good to see you here !

Welcome !!

And I have no answers for you - but time will tell. A lot of your concerns/questions will be answered as the Aptera process moves forward.
