Default 8/20/09 - Ecollywood: Robin Williams is crazy for green transportation - mnn.com

Source:

Quote:
Although he’s still driving an old Land Rover Defender he calls “somewhat fuel efficient,” Robin Williams is about to convert to electric power for his next vehicle, the futuristic Aptera he ordered and expects to get this fall. “It looks like something out of Logan’s Run,” says Williams, joking about its small capacity, “There’s room for me and a bag.” His even greener form of transportation, however, is his bicycle, which also serves as daily exercise he requires to get back in shape after open-heart surgery and to prepare for the standup comedy tour he’ll launch this fall.

Well, it would be a big black-eye to Aptera Motors if expectations of the stars such as on-time delivery can't be met. So what is Robin Williams reservation number? Did he get special shortcut privelege or was it a favor bestowed by the founders? I won't mind the shortcuts of the stars if it would help expose the Aptera.

I would be willing to wager he doesn't have a deposit number. Happens all the time... That said, you're right, the exposure will be good for Aptera.

Get used to it, lots of celebs will skip the line.

So how big of a celeb do you need to be to skip in line? Robin Williams? Lisa Lampanelli? Nathan Fillion? Jon F Brännström?

(Didn't Aptera state a while back that there'd be no cutsies? I seem to recall something like that...)

I remember something along those lines. I think Paul WIlbur said he had to join the back of the line when he hired on.

Hi,

We heard quite a while ago that Mr. Williams was a deposit holder -- I think he is in line legitimately.

I knew the Aptera reminded me of something from my youth but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I made that comment when I first learned that Williams was getting one

Pie in the sky? Nope. The business model looks sound; nearly 4000 deposits have been placed (Robin Williams among the clientele),

Mork is going to be driving a spaceship! Oh, this is brilliant!
