Default Options in case Aptera cannot deliver?

Hello all,

New here but have been wanting to get an all-electric (or a darn good Hybrid small car) for some time. I have been very interested in the Aptera , as it is rakish, and has decent specs.

After seeing the Focus EV for the first time last night, online, I was very impressed, not only by the fact that it is being made in America, but that it is supposedly available soon (price being reasonable??).

The Fiat 500 seems to be cool, although the Focus looks great. I don't really need a long-distance car, so right now it seems my choice might be for a Focus EV or C-max Energi.

If the price is right I might as well go for a long-range hybrid....It seems like I will have to wait until the first quarter of next year to see ANY of these at my local dealer. As usual, I will choose the most basic one, after all, it is just a transport vehicle....

Any choice you all particularly like out there?

Ray

The Aptera in the photo at the top of this page would be my first choice, if I had that choice. Since I don't and won't, I have been hanging around the FocusEV unofficial fan site: http://fordfocuselectric.com. Come on over and join the discussion there.

I don't think Ford has announced pricing yet.

If you are asking for EV options under $40k, I think these are most of what are available or expected in the next 2 years:

Nissan Leaf
Mitsubishi iMiEV
Ford Focus EV
Fiat 500 EV
Smart ED
Honda Fit EV
Toyota RAV4 EV

Over $40k: Tesla Model S, Fiskar Karma, Coda Sedan

Unfortunately, Aptera, at this point, doesn't make either of these lists. Then again, Steve (Aptera's founder), keeps teasing us with news and links to possible new projects and alliances. Hope springs eternal! Ha

I like the Focus and the Fiat of what I can afford... and I follow Focus news at the site randyd mentioned above and the Ford EV facebook page:

hybridcars.com is a great site detailing other electric cars and

Ford.com has links to the FocusEV. I could not post the URL's as this is only my 2nd post...

Default Green Drive Expo - Richmond, CA - Sept 17

Hey,

Will have my 10KWh, PlugInSupply PHEV Prius on the floor, right beside the owner of the company's (Robb Protheroe) booth. Might even have some of my wine to pour if I can get away with it.
