Default Who has access to our emails?

Aptera is supposed to be closed and preparing for liquidation, yet someone from the team B has access to the mailing list. The PR firm (paid for opinion) is responding in comments to many news articles on behalf of team B. Who is still paying them? It's funny how they keep accusing the journalists and press of not checking facts, yet they have done the very same thing. They have listened only to Paul's "facts" in Paul's "world"; not a wise decision. Below is the letter...

Aptera Motors Inc.
Thursday December 8, 2011
Greetings!

There have been several recent videos posted on YouTube showing the demolition of a small number of untrimmed Aptera vehicle bodies. The videos were taken approximately eight months ago at Aptera's Oceanside facility, which the company officially exited in May 2011. However, the posters of these videos have tried to portray these clips as an angered response from Aptera employees at the recent closure of the company. These claims are completely false.

The bodies in question were not slated for demolition because on any ill will or malice from any member of the company present or past. These particular 2e's were defective and/or obsolete development properties that no longer had any value to the company. We destroyed the bodies because they were unsafe for use as a vehicle -- with high potential for loss of life if they were involved in a crash. (This is evidenced by the upper body and lower skins separating from each other on impact.)

While the company often engages in technology sharing with academic institutions (area elementary, middle and high schools, universities and museums, we never released vehicle assets that had the potential of being misused and resulting in physical harm or loss of life.

Contrary to the stories that have been written recently, there was no destruction of company property during the closure of Aptera. It is appalling how low journalism in the internet age has sunk in pursuit of sensationalism. In fact, our employees exited the building honorably and professionally. The accusations that have been made to the contrary are insulting and demonstrate the kind of uninformed defamation that diminishes the all of Aptera's efforts and undermines the work of everybody committed to perpetuating clean transportation.

Finally, there are currently seven prototypes of the Aptera 2e concept inside our former headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. These prototypes reflect every generation of Aptera vehicle body ever created, from the very first tested concept vehicle (built by the founders) to the most recent prototype that was campaigned at the Automotive XPRIZE. An eighth prototype resides at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Incidentally, none of these vehicles have been damaged in anyway.

Thank you for your support,

Email lists fit on a cheap thumb drive. It's easy to copy data and move it, once you know things are going down the singularity...

Paul never kept very quiet when made fun of in public. He and "his friends" appeared here in various guises over the years. So, I don't find the PR letter out of character at all.

*shrugs*

Pretty tricky wording...

"defective and/or obsolete"

Every Aptera was "obsolete" to Team B except the Foam Buck Camry....

But they throw in defective and/or to make people think they were defective...

And yes they were destroyed out of malice...did you see any proper testing? Any proper controls?

I think in a weird way, Karen is unwittingly helping Paul sully the name of Aptera and it's composite technology.

The videos with hynea-style mob laughter, commenting on the safety of the shell while they intentionally destroy it, has created the desired FUD he can continue to make reference to, over and over.

You see, it's not HIS fault Aptera failed... *sarcasm*
In his world, I'm sure Paul Wilbur justifies himself by thinking the Aptera Concept at it's very core, is flawed and doomed to fail.

And then he gets a check from his buddies at Chrysler. Easy money!

I received the letter too, and I noticed the typical MM failure to proofread his published letter's for mistakes. So this is just more drivel from PBW and his cronies to try to manage the damage they continue to do to the Aptera brand once the reality of their tear down is uncovered and exposed to the light.

The email is clearly a product of Constant Contact, the commercial emailer that Aptera has used for a long time. There is a link to view the message online that open your browser to http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/bLahBlAhblAH... So some one at Constant Contact triggered the email event, and I presume they don't do that for free. Speculation: The dollar amount is inconsequentially small, and Team B paid for that before the assets were turned over to MLC.

So, to answer your question Tricia, Constant Contact has the email addresses used to send this message.

I would guess that they're already paid up through the end of the month (or whenever) and "Aptera Marketing" still has the password. They probably shouldn't be allowed to post though.

Doug is correct, that's how CC works - you pay for a monthly/annual subscription and whoever has the login/password can send whatever they want.

That's unfortunate.
