Aptera has closed its doors and has been placed into a trust with a very well respected Managed Liquidation Company. Their responsibility is to maximize the value of the remaining assets for the benefit of debt and share holders. There are no employees at Aptera and no Board of Directors. Everything that is Aptera, in terms of assets and IP, are now held by the Managed Liquidation Company.

This process to establish how the liquidation will occur has begun, but will take several weeks to be fully defined. Eventually, the assets will be auctioned off to the highest bidder to do with what they choose. The Managed Liquidation Company will come forth with details once available and I will make sure those details are made available on the Forum as soon as they are released.

It is the responsibility of the managed liquidation company to protect Aptera's assets and maximize their value now. They were there when the doors were closed and hold the only access to these assets now.

Nothing will be destroyed, taken away, or otherwise impacted in a way that value will be decreased.

In an effort to inform others passionate about the preservation of our dream of efficient transportation, I will contact various media outlets to inform them of this process as well.

Thank you Chris for letting us know what's happening! It has been a busy day...

I've missed out on lots of activity on the forums today. I bought a LEAF in June and today I was at a meeting (with 100 other owners) with the engineering team from Nissan while all this was unfolding.

I really hope that Aptera can emerge from the ashes of itself. I will buy one of those wacky three-wheeled tadpoles... Especially if it has your sporty, performance-oriented fingerprints on it.

Thank you Steve and Chris! It has been an amazing journey. When I first laid eyes on the protos some two and a half years ago in the parking lot of Stanford Mall in Palo Alto CA, I was really pumped & happy I had my reservation deposit down.

It's interesting that Steve brings up the window debacle in another thread. With my engineering background and interest in aerodynamics, I told everyone I knew that going to power roll downs, thereby adding weight and changing the body shape, was a poor design compromise. My hobby is bicycle racing and since we can only generate some 300-350W during a one-hour time trial, I'm keenly aware of how important little things, like the shape of one's helmet, can make in going faster with less energy.

Thanks to all on this forum for the interesting discussions we have had.

I started following this forum back when it still seemed there might be a few Apteras in customer's hands by about this time. The conversation has been enlightening, the passion: heart-warming, the debate: entertaining (even TruthSeeker's questionable logic), and I thank all of you that contributed. I hope there will soon be reason to continue discussion (a phoenix rising?).

Finally! This terrible terrible mess is over. I like the resurgent enthusiasm that I sense on the forum. I remember when Aptera was really cruising with Chris and Steve running things. Frequent updates, videos everywhere, a hybrid version in the works...

I would pop in a least once a day and everyday it was a new discussion (argument ?) about efficiency, roll up windows, production schedules, safety, or aesthetics. Super exciting time. We were so close too. Deposits placed, instructions on how the buying experience would work. I really felt like it was our company. Chris and Steve did a great job of keeping us all in the loop. How close were you to production? Months? Weeks?

Paul certainly dumped a very large bucket of water on that fire however there are obviously some coals left.

Could we actually see these cars on the road one day? Are you, Steve and Chris, seriously interested in re-lighting this project? I think it is apparent that you have the support of those that loved your vision best. If you ask it of us I'm sure we would love to help in anyway we can.

I hope that Aptera lives on and can come to market with the quirky little 3 wheeler that we all fell in love with. I can now break out my homemade Aptera shirt again as there is cause for hope.

Cheers

And you can now wear that T-shirt with pride. A month ago it probably would have felt shameful....

Wow... I can't believe what has gone down in the last few days, amazing!

It's weird to feel actual relief in the assets of Aptera being sold off, yet this is what we all wanted... Team 2 is gone, hallelujah!

Glad to see a resurgence on this board, it's great to have a forum for Chris, Steve, Jason and others to keep us informed...

Phoenix rising? (and I don't mean that EV truck manufacturer! Ha)
